8 Vegan Goodies From Dollar Tree

I grew up in a working-class household. Early on, I deemed my local dollar store as a personal paradise. For a hundred pennies, I could buy a book, puzzle, or any toy in the store I wanted. In college, I used dollar stores to furnish my dorm rooms. I still regularly shop at one today.

A little over a year ago, I shifted towards a vegan diet. There’s a misconception out there that vegan lifestyles are expensive. I somewhat agree. You can shop at places like Whole Foods with a high pricetag if you’re not careful.

However, I avoid overpaying at all costs. In fact, I buy most vegan staples at Dollar Tree. It’s an unlikely hub for my diet, I know, but check out some “accidentally vegan” finds.

Louisiana Supreme Original Chicken Wing Sauce

Yes, it’s vegan. Don’t let the chicken part fool you. Pour this over tofu, seitan, or another plant-based meat alternative for a kick of spice.

McCormick Bac’n Pieces

Bacon bits are primarily soy-based without a hint of pork. Add this to your salads!

After studying abroad in India, I hold samosas close to my heart. I make sure to stock up on these goodies whenever they’re available.

Vegetable Empanadas

Rice and beans aren’t the only affordable option here anymore. Microwave these empanadas at work during your lunch break.

Just Mayo

No eggs, no problem! This tasty staple is better known as the underdog that challenged the egg lobby. I love spreading Just Mayo on tofurkey and kale sandwiches.

FullSizeRender (2)Crispy Bean Fries

These fries work as an awesome veg-friendly party appetizer. You know, Super Bowl Sunday IS just around the corner…

Veggie Burgers

The veggie burger is here to stay for fifty cents each. I slice these patties up in a wrap with veggies and Daiya cheese.

Organic Soy Milk

Do I need to explain this one?
