Try This DIY Coffee Scrub

Little by little, I’ve been adopting environmentally-friendly practices to my personal hygiene routine. Most beauty and hygiene products can contribute to climate change if we don’t approach them sustainably.

Recently, this story surfaced on my Facebook news feed. One day, I too aspire to produce as little waste as this “zero waste girl.” In the meantime, I’ve been replacing unsustainable habits with eco-friendly ones. For instance, few months ago, I replaced microbeads with brown sugar in this face wash.

Last week, I decided to take exfoliation to the next level. I was looking for something to conquer dry skin. I started collecting coffee grinds for a week straight and collected enough to try a new recipe, mentioned below:

1 tablespoon of sea salt
2 tablespoons of coconut oil

I mixed the ingredients together into a mason jar. I wasn’t sure what to expect. When I hit the shower, I covered myself in this mixture. Particularly, I massaged my arms, thighs, neck, shoulders, and feet. It was not only refreshing to rub against dry skin, but the fresh fragrance woke me up.
